Hi Andrew, I assume you are wondering if the boots are suitable for regular hill walking. It's a boot that will be a bit overkill for that. Bear in mind that it has been designed for mountaineering and for altitudes of up to around 5,000m and is , of course, crampon compatible , so for regular use it will be rather stiff and much too warm for the UK in Summer.

for your purpose, I would go with the Charmoz, the Mont Blanc would indeed be a bit of an overkill in my opinion. In combination with warm merino socks, the Charmoz should be sufficient.
